Hi guys. For the last week my aircon idler has been squealing away under my bonet so I decided it was time to go.
After looking long and hard I was unable to find a replacement at a sensible price. So I removed the bearing with a couple of sockets and my trusty vice, the plan being to find a bearing somewhere online instead. It measured 30mm od 10mm id and 27mm deep.
Sadly I was unable to find any.
I did however come across 30x10 x9 bearings so thought for 99p I would give it a go. Purchased 2 and again with my trusty vice and sockets pressed the 2 bearings in making sure they where true and flush with the rear of the wheel. Placed a washer either side for clearance and re fitted the idler to the engine. Perfect, job done.
the bearings must have been noisy for some time before the squealing started as my engine seems quieter than ever, and for only 99p..
the bearings I used where from a popular auction site and part number 62002rs.
Hopefully this will be of help to somone else.
