I've done nearside repairs and am about to start offside - the bad side.
I need to chop off the spring seat and boot floor support, weld up the chopped out stuff and weld on a new seat and the boot support.
If it was all straight lines; I'd have no issue. If I had a drawing it would probably be easier too. I will do a drawing for the D1 chassis once I have all dimensions and upload to here.
Due to curves etc, what do we think best plan is to take accurate measurements and datum points of brackets prior to chopping them off to ensure I get them back in the right place?
Is there a best practice way the pro's would measure up the chassis prior to carrying works? Rave does have a drawing with a few references on but not edge to edge dimensions etc and relies on my rear cross member being intact - its destroyed lol.
If I'm out by a few mm will it mess with my alignment? Boot floor isn't too much of a worry; its more the spring seat that I want bang on.
