We are a road safety charity that has been given as a donation a land rover 110, 1992 K plate, it's off the road just now as it has been on sorn for 2 years, needs a new chassis, 4 doors, bumpers, bench seats and supports for them.
We know we won't get all these things we need but wanted to ask if anyone is aware of any organisations that would sponsor the restoration or donate some of the items we need.
We are also looking for free space to work on the vehicle, prefer it to have electricity and heat, although heat is optional!
The charity is based in the north east of scotland (Aberdeenshire). We would be willing to pay for any electricty used if we got somewhere, we need this space to take the 110 apart.
Also is anyone aware of any land rover owners club in my area.
Thanks in advance.

Hi

You might find a local farmer with a barn for the dismantling?

Re: sponsorship - just the usual advice - write/phone/visit all the big businesses in your area - i'd prioritise ones with a local head office

Also worth contacting the local council and Holyrood, albeit that's a harder gig to extract cash from

Good luck with this:)

Try writing to all the distileries for sponsership mate, a charity down my way did it and got a tremendous response.Even when they didn't pledge cash they donated bottles and the charity just had one hell of a raffle....Good luck with your project.:):)

Have you considered a letter to LandRover?

For chassis have a word with Richards chassis etc...

Do you NEED 4 doors? What's wrong with all 4 of them that you need new ones? They can look a state but often a £20 piece of door repair section and some welding will sort them.

Local club: SORC

thanks for the tips, i have contacted folks i know with space, and i have written to land rover, awaiting responses. Will keep at it i'm not for giving up.

Re: doors, someone has mentioned the repairs kit, will look at that as i'ts mostly the bottom of each door.

thanks guys

yrm metals make all the repairs panels or sections you will need at a fraction of the price of a complete door

Local people that might help in some way. Drum garage in Meikle Wartle, Caldwell and Dempster in Banchory and Kirkstyle in Kemnay . They all service Land rovers and have various spare bits hanging around . Might be worth a try you have nothing to loose. Good Luck.

Hi thanks for the info from all.
Chassis completely gone. there is about a 2ft ling by 4 inch hole on the n/s chassis rail. Oh and i found a blackbirds nest on top of the chassis too.

Will try some of the suggestion

Well, not sure if you need these, but I can give them to you for free. All from a 110, 1992 hardtop:

- Complete headlining, front to rear. Needs a little clean and perhaps the board replacing, but otherwise sound.

- Front middle seat and belt

Good luck

Before you start is it a landrover you need / as it could well cost you more to revive to a useful reliable working vehicle than going out and buying something else ?
