Both of my front door lock actuators have never worked since I have owned the car. In your collective experience, is this cos they are burnt out and need replacing, or is it another RR electrical peculiarity that has an easy fix probably somewhere else on the car entirely? Everything else in the doors works as it should (windows HK speakers/amp etc).

Had this same problem when I bought my car, so guess that your door outstations are ok. You can buy 2 new front actuators at £130 each or buy two cheap secondhand rear ones for £20 -£30 pounds take out the motors and fit them to your front actuators. Worked ok for me.

Gav Brigs is the expert, just take the actuators apart, clean up, lube and test. He says it often works.

Both electric motors were worn out in mine. Quite and easy job to undertake. Be careful when you strip the latch as not to let bits fall out.

Have you stripped the trim to check if the plug from the latch is connected?
I know of a P38 where a previous owner had disconnected the plugs to prevent the infamous "door open" error.
