Back door won't open.
All doors - I cannot lock the car with the fob or unlock it after I have locked the doors manually
The central locking switch on the dash is not doing anything but I do hear a click from below the dashboard
The alarm sets and unsets as normal
Now the back door handle is doing nothing except lowering the window but not releasing the lock and sometimes it does not even do that.
I have had issues with the back door for ages. I believe there is a spring broken inside the handle but with a bit of jiggling I have been able to reset it when the door is open so that it would latch again on closing.
The back window operates normally on the dashboard switch
I have played with the fob and initially I heard a click in the doors when using it even though they did not lock or unlock but now I don't even hear the click
Tried disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes. Reconnect and rear window goes down, key in tailgate held to right brings it up again as usual but still no central locking
Never had any problems with the central locking before
Found this thread telling me how to get the back door open if I can't get the electrics to work -

but would rather fix the source
I have not found a thread with this particular problem.
Appreciate any help with this - where do I start to look? Thanks

Sort of solved it - the number 15 fuse had blown. Now it all works again
Anyone got any thoughts on why it should blow ..... or is it just one of those things that can happen??

Old age due for retirement. Fuses do tend to pop when least expect them either from bad earthing water ingress or a simple bad fuse.
Being very close to Evoques tend to send a few Landrover drivers haywire.

Seeing your from Totnes do yo still use the Totnes pound

A 2003 Freelander isn't anything to do with an Evoque, not even close.
Actually it's a cousin to a Rover 75, or even a distant cousin to a BMW 3 series.
Misquoted old boy merely being next to a Evoque can effect most landrovers. Not saying sharing a connection.

I'll keep fingers crossed it isn't water or earthing problems, carry a bunch of spare fuses and keep away from Evoques - just in case!
Thanks

Is there a way to mark a thread as solved?
