I am having consistent problems with the central locking on my 2004 TD5 110 County. I read if the battery in the key fob is going it will only open every second push and it seems better since i put a new batt in. But the lock buttons inside the cab sometimes stick. I have lubed them with silicone spray and worked them by hand and done this a few times now over a couple of weeks. Ive lubed up the lock barrel from outside and unsiezed that so its fine. The back door has never been a problem yet its only the side doors. Most of them take their turn at not opening. The buttons get so far up and stop so you have to put your hand inbetween the B pillar and manually do it.

After speaking to my local stealer, he tells me the electronics either work or dont so the central locking 'system' will be ok if it is activating.

Is it something internal I need to lube?

Ive read a few other posts on here and there is nothing specific.

Am I going to have to remove every door card and do the whole lot before this will work consistently?:(

Thanks

Yes. :)

I would be taking the door cards off and checking everything properly. With the card off and everything unobstructed try the key fob on every door to see if the solenoids are working properly. Then check for movement of the tabs.

Its probably got 9 years of dust, plastic shavings and general crap in there.

Be thankful. My central locking isnt working at all at the moment!
