my ccu as packed up...looked around for a second hand one with out luck...as they are diffrent for diffrent models...the ones that were for sale went for about £90 to £150...highest quote was £200....the price i was told LR sell them for is £300+vat...any way as i was having no luck i phoned LR and they came up with a price of £120+vat...new..asked if it was correct and he said the price as come down, asked how he knew it was for my car as i only told him i had a 03 plate freelander, and it is a td4..checked the part no and he said it replaces most of them if not all.??
makeing one unit to fit more than one car is this the way LR are going at last....goes to show dont dismiss LR check your self..i could have paid more for a second hand one that a new one........

Don't forget that the CCU will need to be set up and programmed to the car, this can be done once only then it's programmed for life I believe. Which of course if you don't have a LR diagnostic system capable of this programming then the dealer is going to charge you at least an hours labour. They don't just plug in and work. This also precludes buying a second hand unit too, it won't work, though of course anyone on Ebay will sell you one....... Buy it from the dealer, book the car in to have it fitted and programmed, any problems with it not working are then for them to sort out, so long as they don't charge you for hours and hours of their labour which they probably will if they're rubbish.....
