I covered 38000 miles on that trip spending 6 months in Russia and went to Yakutsk as well as Vladivostok.
also met some one doing it in a deuce coupe fitted with an Isusu diesel engine.
We had some good offroad experiences and wished we had a land rover but funds were limited. This year i will be driving through to China and on to Nepal and Tibet and Laos. and have a Range Rover this time so a little more comfort in my old age.

Michal,

I was going to ask if it was you who completed the BAM. I saw you video posted on, I think, the HUBB.

We are planning the same route next year. We leave the UK in January and hopefully get out of Siberia by September/October.

Caucasus - Central Asia - Mongolia - Siberia.

Would like to do both BAM and ROB but Im not sure if the BAM is even possible now as I hear they are no longer letting people across the rail bridges. We will see in 2013.

Could I email you with a few questions regarding Siberia/routes etc?

Cheers,

G

Hi,

BAM is passable only in August-September. Then possible to cross the river. The main problem is the railway bridge on the river Oliekma. There do not want to give a ride, they say to go back 200 km to the train car load. Unloading in Tynda only and cost $ 2000. We drove the bridge cars but I had a letter from the Administration of the President of Russia to help us.
The whole film from Siberia can be found at campus adventure TV

The route that I can write you carefully plan including ready-track GPS.
Professionally prepares projects the expedition and the they lead best scenic routes. Of course, do not do it for free. Contact me mrworldadventure@gmial.com
See a photo of my expedition to Siberia, Georgia, Mongolia, Iceland, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Australia, Ukraine, etc. on

Michal, thats what I was saying, they no longer letyou pass on the rail bridges, they are now guarded.

Yes I have seen your video's etc. Routes are all available online if you know where to look, I was just after a bit of info.

cheers,

G

...a bit of info no problem ask me :)

Some bridges have always been guarded by security. Kuanda, Vitim, Oliekma (Aliokma). Remember that the BAM and ROB can not drive single car. It is not possible to sleep in a tent, even the roof tent ... unless you want to be dinner for a local bear. The secret of BAM is... how and where to crossing the river :)

cheers,
M.

I have also traveled independently in all of those countries you have mentioned and lived in Australia and spent 1 year doing the desert tracks ie the gun barrel highway The french line,The Oodnadata track the Strezleki track. the Canning stock route,Cape York peninsular.Birdsville track.followed the rail line across the Nullabor and many more.

Hi Michael,

No thanks to this one, I will have the first one, it looks cheaper by about 2300 Euro.
Where and when will you pick me up?
I got a rucksack packed, just waiting your phone call.
I will bring a few beers.
