I have a FL1 Td4 and looking for a modern replacement with GPS satNav, MP3/5, Radio to replace original player. Can anyone suggest a branded unit that fits?

Pioneer do a unit, @WD50 has one in hers, doesn't actually do the sat nav, but IPhone and android compliant, Can have a reverse camera as an optional extra.

I think it is an AVH-X490BS, but not 100%, the unit itself is good, I think the camera is to slow in starting up, however the text to speech and vica versa is good, I.e receive and send text when you are driving hands free, hands free works fine, I find the sat nav via phone annoying, but that's probably because when I am driving @WD50 is playing on the phone! Probably works fine otherwise.

Music comes straight from the phone, but I think you can insert media cards into the unit, like I say it hers not mine, she is happy with it.

There are loads of double din HUs about. If you want nav from one of the large HU manufacturers, then be prepared to shell out big money. If you just want audio, then a good HU can be had for a couple of hundred quid. This depends on whether you want compressed media only or CD as well

Its a Pioneer SPH-DA120 and has Apple CarPlay so pretty useful if you have an iPhone. Needs a double din fascia too and everything works ok for me but yeh, can be slow to start up :)

Around my way, DAB isn't very good. And to be honest the sound quality is no better than good old fashioned fm. However, my ears are not as good as they once were.

Yu can get radio apps, but who needs radio when yu got all yo own music on tap?

Radio apps require an internet connection, as the music is streamed off the net. There are no tablets available with built in FM radio chip sets.

I have yet to find a car stereo that plays vinyl. Until then I will continue listening to the radio :)

I prefer the radio whilst driving.

I prefer radio too, or radio Two to be exact.

Ahh, you have taste, Radio 2 for me as well.

I didn't say a tablet - I said a phablet :)

There are a couple non preparatory brand phablets that are using old technology chip sets that contain the FM tuner. These use the headphone wire as the antenna.
These phablets are neither cheap or easy to install.
It's much easier to simply install a HU instead. ;)
