Just had a look through the threads but cant see anything that quite relates to my prblem so here goes.....
I load six REAL CD's into the cartridge and load it into the changer...
The changer then starts up like its sampling each one to make sure there's a CD in the trays but it never does..you can see it moving up one at a time but it never draws any of the trays across to play the CD...hence the header unit reads no discs.
The cartridge ejects ok and inserts ok. I've tried pulling the fuses to see if it will reset... no go....
Any idea's apart from hitting it with a hammer would be much appreciated cheers:confused:

Depending on which model, I may have a spare one available:) I take it you have put the CD's in the right way up?

I had this many moons ago. I took the outside cover off and gave it all a good clean with one of those compressed air spayers for computers. I was suprised by the amount of dust in there. I've had no problems with the cd changer since but then its only been working approx 75% of ownership because my dsp amps always seem to go south!!! Leaving me with no sound at all!!

Just mananged to source another off ebay and if this one gives up I'm defo going aftermarket.

Cheers fellas....yes the CD's are in the right way i've even spread jam on them all to no avail....hammer it is then...

I had this problem with mine last week, took it to bits which it a bit fiddly but it works great now. Think they may need the read laser cleaning now & again. This would make the problem you have.

Update......The hammer does the trick...
When all else fails hit it....lol. Had another go at it and after a bit of looking and poking about thought a little tap on the cassett :smash:(nothing excessive) wouldn't harm things and hey presto everything up and running. Cheers all..

I had exactly the same problem. Traced it to the pin that goes into the hook on each CD tray to draw it out wasn't going in. As has been said, a bit of a clean and/or a bit of hammer work sorted it (did both, so not sure what cured it!). Now the problem has reappeared, so off to repeat...
