Just bought my first landy (N reg Tdi Disco ES) this weekend! But can't seem to get the CD multichanger to work. Before I take it to be repaired I just thought I would check to see if it's something simple. Basically it keeps saying there is a cd error and won't play and the cd cartridge struggles to release itself from the main unit.

Also another simple question: what's the difference between a Tdi 200 and Tdi 300?

Any advice would be much appreciated

have you got the cd's in correctly? right way up and central?
has the little spring inside came off?

Its now given up the ghost completly! Press the eject button, flashes green for an instant , then nothing. Any other thoughts?

it could be a cd that has slipped and is jamming the whole thing up. take the cover off and have a look. i bought one from ebay and it was send with an empty cartridge in it, one of the cd holders had moved and jammed the lot up.
it was trying to eject it but couldn't so i took cover off and using a small screw-driver i managed to re-locate the thing. its been perfect every since

No branding on it, i 'm guessing its the original factory fitted.

Taken apart and there was not one but two discs jammed, but still not releasing the cartridge, flash of green on pressing the eject button then nowt! Am i expecting to much from a 10 year old cd player?!

try the sheffield fine adjuster on it

did you check to see if the little return spring is where it should be

It appears that all springs are in place , shall continue fettling with it till it works or i break it!
Cheers for advice and shall report back if it starts playing my Barry Manilow Greatest Hits CD.
