need to get a cb radio and a speaker upgrade for my defender 90 for a good price of

£170.

is it poss i have seen cb radios on ebay for 70 ish quid just dont know how to fit them or add on extra speakers?

rob.

just want some better sound and a decent CB radio can push to £200 if it makes a difference?

any help/local people who could help in fitting?

Only way to increase the clarity of a cb speaker is to run it through a graphic equaliser and an amp but that is mad

hi mate, pm or phone me if you'd like some advice on fitting etc.
I'm near Cambridge/Newmarket if you'd like help e.g. Come over n do it at my place, yourself, with guidance, help n coffee supply...
Also, try rocket radio in Letchworth.
Dont just buy anything, they aren't all the same, some kit is not worthy to be in a landy.
Kind regards, Clive.

why do you mean by some kits arent worthy to be in a landy?

to good... not good enough? ....

and thanks i will

Its up to you mate - but a simple one is all you need !
Get a basic Midland and that will do all you need it to do.

Performance wise - the lower the SWR the better the range and it also protects your "rig" from damage ;)

if i got that one would i need a swr meter? does anyone know./

You need a swr meter for any cb mate (unless its built in......)
They do a deal if you buy 1 with a kit on the link i posted
Or maybe someone you know could lend you 1 to set it up??

after its setup dont you need it after that like doesent it need constant calibration? :fighting2:

Nope once you have set it up you don't need it - but i have my SWR meter permanently fixed near the cb so i can constantly check that i'm not going to blow the TX crystal in the cb due to a wiring/aerial problem.......... You will find that any warranty for a cb won't cover the TX crystal ;)
