Hi i've got a 1996 Discovery 300tdi with an exhaust blow from the flexi part on the front pipe.
I was looking at replacing it with a de-cat pipe but not sure how this will affect the mot.
Been looking online but getting very mixed answers.
If anyone can give me a definite answer if a de-cat pipe would be fine or if i should replace with a new cat please let me know, thanks.

Thanks guys, removing the egr was first thing i done when i got it,
Just was never sure on the latest mot rules on the cat.

If the mot guy notices the dpf (diesel particle filter) is missing and he's a jobs worth it will fail.done mine a few years ago no probs so far but still have it in my shed just in case.

I may be wrong, but I think the 300Tdi engine did not have a DPF or even a cat. The flexible section is just that.
I also remember many threads about fitting a Defender 300Tdi exhaust which does not have the flexi section.
This is from memory when I had my own 300Tdi.
