I have used car wash brushes on a 4 foot aluminium pole to clean all my cars, they seem the best solution for the demands my filthy LR and other family motors make on me.
However of late I have found it very hard to find a poled car wash brush that lasts more than a couple of washes. Usually they break where the head meets the brush and I have to bodge a repair using glue and hose clamps which is very inefficient. They leak where the head unscrews in normal use and the hose seldom push fits onto the base of the hose well.
What I need is a car wash pole for the more professional market, using brass fitments for the head, pole and hose, that will last under normal domestic use.
Do any of the members here have any recommendations other than cheapo E Bay, Tool Station, Euro car parts, Halfords etc crap.
Many thanks in anticipation

Used to be able to find complete ex military kits in a proper canvas bundle, no doubt they use the Romanians on the corner as well now

Now, when you say you want professional grade stuff, I hope you are willing to pay premium prices.

Search for
Professional Car or Van Wash Brush extends to 1.8M long
on amazon and make sure the vendor is a guy called Martin Cox, amazon links don't work here, they just take you to the amazon site or I would post the link, it's the same one I have and it's brilliant and very well made, not cheap at £28 but this is the best one I've had for years.

I had all the same problems with the plastic head thing coming off and cheap thin extruded ally handles snapping but this one is really good quality.

That's excellent info DD69, I had in fact found that advert, Googling "Professional Wash Brush" and read all the 63 customer reviews. Had it stored in my favourites. Can I ask you how the brush affixes to the pole, is it for instance a brass fitting and how the hose pushes fits to the pole too. Is that brass or the usual plastic?
Many thanks
Steve

Mine is an aluminium threaded section, pole locks are plastic but not the cheap brittle crappy stuff.

Excellent. The Professional Blue Brush is WS.PROWBMED. Looks like you can get it much cheaper on Amazon too Amazon product
Martin Cox does an even stronger one: The Professional Green Brush" is WS.PROWBLG, available through Amazon Amazon product at the same price.
May be a no brainer?

Stronger the better and if it comes at no extra cost then certainly a no brainer :)

It was the right thing to do. The brush is excellent and has been in use 18 months now. A pleasure to use and does the LR very well.
I recommend it 100%
