The one in my Landy doesn't work and I though I might put a new one in. Its just in a black box fastened on in front of the bonnet catch.

If its easy and just a case of unfastening the old one and the new one will just go in, I might try it myself.

As the others have said, the size is now standard called DIN; 2 x 7 inches. Double DIN is 4 x 7 inches. They come with a cradle which is permanently fitted to the vehicle and into which the radio head unit is slipped. Catches secure it so that it can't be removed without the correct keys. (Doesn't apply when the local riff-raff is about)

Wiring for all car radio head units is also, or should be standardised to ISO specs, so installing shouldn't present too many problems. Wiring for the aerial and speakers is usually correct, but there might be a problem with the permanent and switched 12 volt supplies.

Dont think it has been in for that long, certainly not from new. When nrgserv put the CB in he found radio wiring somewhere else on the dash to use. So I guess it originally had one somewhere else.

Dont know what idiot thought moving it to be in the way of the bonnet catch was a good idea though
