Hi all. New here & looking for a bit of advice please. I've got a 2007 FL2 TD4 HSE manual. Normally do all work on it myself, but to be fair to her, she's now done 178k miles & not been too much trouble. Currently got an issue that's got me a bit stuck though. When I accelerate the car pulls quite sharlps to the left for a second or two then holds strady, when I take my foot off the power, it pulls to the right just as sharply. It all feels like it's in the front end. It's been doing it a while now, it did used to feel like the whole car was lurching left & right but I serviced the rear diff & pulled the Haldex unit & send that off for reconditioning & since then you can definitely tell it's all in the front wheels. Any ideas what could be causing it before I start pulling the whole front end apart to try find out? Should say that it just past MOT last week, all track rods & front drive shafts are absolutely fine with no play in them. Any help will be greatly appreciated
Many thanks
Ben

I'd be looking at the MOT testing station! Looks like they missed something fundamental.
Have the front shocks been replaced . . . as a pair? Even if they seem okay they could be reacting differently.

Hi there, I'm currently having the exact same issue with my ford mondeo.
Every time I press the gas she pulls right and when I release the gas she pulls left for a second.

When I looked at mine I found the passenger side lower arm forward bush is guffed, wheel has some "play" in it but not as much as I'd have expected given how much movement is in the bush.

Dunno if yours will be the same but certainly a place to check. I would also examine the lower arm ball joints and rear ward bush for play given your experiencing torque steer.

Cheers

Oh and btw mine just passed the MOT too without any advisory for it so I guess they couldn't see where they play was coming from.
