I ran a thread on my conversion on LRUK. As I can't seem to be able/bothered to cut 'n' paste it all over here this is a link to it (if anyone is interested); I didn't do the conversion myself but it narrates some of the expected and unexpected surprises when converting a thirty year old Ninety

looks like a tidy conversion!

Is it night and day regarding performance compared to the 2.5n/a?

Totally :D The 2.5P was sweet, purred like a sewing machine on idle and sounded like Postman Pat when trundling along.* Unfortunately it just didn't have the va va voom to keep up with modern traffic; ok cruising along but it took it's time to get up to speed, and fast junctions and slip roads could be hairy

The V8 picks up and goes in a blink and easily keeps up with barely any throttle, and it sounds so good ;) I've had a factory 90 3.5 and a converted 110 3.9, and this ex-Disco 3.5 pulls like the proverbial train, as good as the 3.9. It's on 235x85R16 and 1:1.4 diff. MPG is about the same as the 2.5 as I drove her hard; the V8 just pootles along, with nice torquey power there for overtaking or when conditions allow some speed. The auto box makes town driving a breeze, it changes smoothly, is quiet with a great kick down, and I don't notice any sluggishness. All told I am very happy with it.

*@minecab has the 2.5 now and I hope it still running ok in his 109.

Just read your thread. Loads of good stuff and pics to help anybody else.

Thanks you have a great sorted 90:)

Off to have a look at the full build thread :)

I can vouch for the get up and go of this little 90, it's awesome :D

Brilliant thread! Very interesting as I'm a huge 3.5 fan and intend to do similar with my 90 when I get the balls to!

I've got a big four barrel weber/edlebrock carb and inlet manifold to go on her and new cam and tappets, doing a little bit as and when I can afford it! Brilliant to see you're enjoying yours! :)
