Hi can anyone help, had new fuel pump fitted on my diesel vogue now the battery is flat and it won,t start.Charged it allday and it still keeps ticking and straining when i start it, i am devastated i want my car working paid £800.00 to get it fixed and its not!!!!!!!!

I'm having the similar problem with my 92 disco, had a wiring issue a yr ago when all the lights went off, had it fixed and since then it's starting very intermitantly!! It does that clicking thing for a while then slurts and starts. Sometimes it just makes no sound and then if I hold the key on it starts 10 secs later - bloody wierd. Strange thing is I left it into Garage for a week and it started every time for them while they were servicing it. If u have any joy could u let me know what advice u got - good luck.

could be bad earth try putting a jump lead from your battery earth to the engine block
