Having bought a 1974 SIII 88 (petrol), I no longer need my 1978 109 SIII (Diesel) - her timing chain went in 1999 and she has sat out in our yard since. Before I offer her up to the Gods what spare parts should I consider canabalising for the new girl in my life, without getting into open heart surgery?

It seems rather a waste of a newer diesel S3 - iss it just the timing chain - or is that not the whole story?
