Ok, in another thread I was having issues with oil in coolant of my 1.8K, where I neglected to reseal a loose liner with hylomar. I now have in my possession all the required items to get this fixed, when out of the blue a 2000 FREELANDER shows up on my doorstep for next to nothing, since the shop was looking to get rid of it after the owner never returned.

The car in question is a KV6 and of course since my wife never liked the standing gear 1.8, I'm thinking ....swap the KV6 engine and transmission into my 1.8 and vice versa and sell off the latter.

Has anyone done this ? KV6 into 1.8 body or 1.8 into KV6 body ? I need to know before I make the purchase as there may be issues that I'm not aware of ...such as engine mounting and so on.

Thanks for your help as usual.

The bodies are identical so fitting the engine, transmission, IRD is possible. There are lots of electrical differences between the K4 and KV6 to make the swap lots of work. The front suspension is also different due to the extra weight up from.
Good luck. ;)
