Hi
I acquired a Freelander 1 2006 1.8 and the wires in the vicinity of the exhaust manifold are getting toasted.
I can't find an exhaust heat shield part listed anywhere on the web (I haven't asked a dealer, preferring after market prices).

Does this part exist and where can I get one (for not too many pennies)?

Conversely can I protect the wiring harness with standard off the shelf heat shielding instead? Then manage without a manifold heat shield.

Thanks
Simon

I'm pretty sure it's the same as on the Rover cars with the K series motor to that could be another source.

Yes, you're right: it'll be a standard part on any k-series - I have a hunch it's the same whatever the engine size; a check on the part numbers will confirm.

My heat shield is missing too. So I wrapped sticky aluminium tape around the alternator's cables and then added a piece of flexi cable conduit also wrapped in that aluminium tape.
