Yet more problems with the disco, after replacing the head, rocker shaft, gasket, push rods ect got it all back together, ran fine for the first time in 3 months, so I taxed it this morning, moved it about 4 meters and bang, something wrong again!

Iv stripped it down again and found if I look down the hole for push rod 7 I can see the locator/follower is cracked, so the push rod isn't locating correctly.... Now iv looked in my workshop overhaul manual and it would appear that I can replace the followers without taking the cam out, just need to remove the head to gain access..... Can anyone confirm this before I whip the head off again?

Cheers,
Nick

yes ,you need to remove head you can just hook follower out or remove locater screw and pull sleeve and followers out as one , its worth checking roller for signs of hard facing wearing through, brass follower has an f stamped to show which way its goes , f towards front of engine

Brilliant that exactly what I needed to know, thank you!
