Hi All

Yes help needed again...

Where can I buy the cable for re setting the EAS alarm from laptop? I am out in Norway but can get my good old Mam to send it out to me. I have a mate more than capable to do the 'procedure' lol.

RR (99) has been into my local dealership now 4 times for the same bloody fault it had a day after we picked it up after buying it grrrrrrr! I have just paid a grand for the last time (it was fixed thats why I paid) but after 2 months same probs back

They have told me on the first visit... nothing wrong as no error message yet car was taking to long to rise/fall then in the end no error message just didnt any more.

2nd visit they changed compressor billed me for it but yes you got it it wasnt working when I got the car back grrrr.

3rd time in they 'claim' to have changed airbags although they look pretty old to me  and they charge me a grand.... and yea it worked!

Until 2 months later, the EAS alarm came on 2 days ago with a 'drive under 55kmh warning', back sunk down then front and no suspension.

4th visit - I dont fxxxxxx think so!

I shall take it to my local garage on island and forget the 50/50 warranty, I would rather pay once in full at a different garage with a guy we know.

Anyone ideas... what could be wrong, I wonder if there is actually anything 'really' wrong or if the sensor is just thinking there is and alarm goes on and just needs resetting.

You can be blunt on my opinions I am in all honestly a lady who knows nothing about cars... horses is a very different thing but really any help would be ohhh so welcome ;)

Hi Vixxy

Sorry about your "stealer" problems.
If you download the program from sourceforge.net/projects/easunlock it contains a readme with full instructions about how to make/purchase the cable.

The car is a 99 p38

Can you only buy the cable from the US?

My mate can make the cable but cant find the plugs needed in Norway

I need to sort it quick, is there a place that I can buy the cable or plugs from in UK. We have already downloaded program hence we need the cable :)

You can only buy the cable from the states, it is specific to these applications. I know the guy has them already made up and will send them out immediately.

However it should be easy to get hold of the ODBII plug. It is fairly standard and not a RR specific thing.

hey Vixxy,
I used to drive a '96 P38, same problems there... for months the same things you describe until I got an adress of a LR Engineer. 5 minutes of work and everything solved!
I don't know if it will solve your problem but mine was the pistonring of the compressor that came "loose".

Maybe somebody check it and refit the pistonring.

grtz,
Keis
