Hi, i am new to Landyzone and hopefully new to my own Land Rover however im abit worried but really like this find? When i look at the MOT History it scares me! Lots of fails and advisories but the worry is these transfer box bolts loose and missing? I need your help and expert guidence on this if you could. Reg is WJ51 NMO. Many thanks peeps!
 
Nothing too major there but has obviously been owned by a bit of a bodger who has done the bare minimum and sometimes even less.
If it was mine I'd spend a few days going round and doing all the little jobs.
I dont understand people who put a car in for MOT with something wrong. Fair enough not everyone wants to get underneath a car but like a bald tyre or lights not working shows that things like basic servicing have probably been neglected also

Some people use the mot as a guide to what needs done to a car to keep it in good working order. Especially if they have been ripped oft by garages for doing excess work. If it were mine I would change all fluids and filters so I knew they had been done.

Edit: having read the mot history I would only buy it if it was very cheap, or I was prepared to have to do a lot of maintenance to it to get it in good running order.

Tbh most modern cars fail on silly stuff, tyres/wipers/lights inop etc, so if each year its a list of serious stuff then the owner is doing sod all to it in between mots, so I would say find another one pleny out there.

Edit just looked at the mot history, that is one seriously neglected car, fail pretty much each year, year on year, that takes a special level of dedication!

You may find the transfer box bolts are where the rear propshaft used to be fitted?

I think I would give that a swerve, you will be able to find better cared for examples imo
 
My mum bought a td4 model about 3/4 yrs ago, think she paid 400 quid? and its still going.
53 plate as well, now starting to show its age, but still works, plus she is allergic to parting with money!
