i'm new to landrovers and need advise. i want to buy a 110 hardtop 300tdi landrover. what should i look out for and how much should i exspect to pay. i would like a newer model with fewish miles on the clock, a good looking example. i don't want to take it off road and i intend to run it on veg oil (twin tank). i know the bosch fuel pump is best for this but what does it look like? i have heard that some have BMW engines. i don't think i want one of those. who makes the 300tdi engine and how should i spot it?

thx Ian

RUST, RUST AND RUST. check out the footwells where the bulkhead joins the floor panel. rear xmember normaly a spot for it as well. if ya can, gut unnerit with a crowbar an check out all suspension bushes for wear/movement. i normally stick me finger in every hole in the chassis to check for mud....holds in the moisture and starts corrosion. if its been worked hard ya will tell the minute u get under and start pokin around. if its a 300TDi will have the badgeing on front fender behind the wheel. the oones with the BMW motor are pretty reliable [here anyway] but they petrol. make sure the xfer box worx....properly.

the make a wonderful potroast tho....very tender meat when its done with wild berries and sage

i hate shooting em tho....they tough lil f****rs, very skittish and unless u sure of a clean kill, can get pretty dangerous.
