What's wrong with burning them out?I need to change a lot of the suspension bushes so i need a press would a 6 ton be up to the job ? I would go for bigger but with lack of money on a very tight budget.
Hi, you can drill through the rubber all round then the metal centre comes out just leaving the outer metal part of the bush which you carefully hacksaw through until it will collapse in. Often more than one way to skin a Cat. did similar on my D1 some time ago!Something similar: Drill through the rubber then let the bit separate the centre from the outer cover. Screwdriver to bend then split the cover.
I agree, after removal, cleaning, rubbing down then prime & paint it was a lot of hours & effort. The only consolation was you did it yourself .It depends on the vehicle, but quite often its not much more expensive to simply buy the whole suspension link with a bush already fitted, which is a lot less hassle than messing about pressing bushes out and in.

That's cheap, down this neck of the woods when I wanted the spare wheel carrier done they wanted £80 ! (Could of got a new one for that)A mate who who used to paint Chinnocks in the RAF did it for nowt with some sort of aircraft paint & what ever it is, its as tough as old boots.Sod the hard work. Place in Stoke I know will blast and powercoat each one for about £15. Will last longer than the whole car...
