Ok so this is a stab in the dark without pics...

I went eventing at the weekend, and as well as having a right giggle, I managed to give the v8 a bit too many beans and split a coolant pipe!

Problem I have now is that the local landrover guys can't identify the pipe I need without seeing the vehicle, but they're 20 miles from me and I only managed to get home by nicking the vaccum pipe and then blocked of the vaccum holes so don't want to be cavorting about in it unless I REALLY need to! :(

SO...

Said pipe is located almost at the highest point of the engine. It's on the left bank, and attaches to a metal pipe feeding from or to the heater matrix. The mteal pipe bolts onto engine and has a ht lead splitter bracket attatched!

From the metal pipe, it then connects in to the main / middle part of the engine (Plenum chamber?) and loiters directly above the location of the spark plugs at the front of the engine.

Problem seems to be that having a '95 disco, it was a change over year so there's epic confusion!

So I'm trying to find a part number to get a replacement, or if anyone can help massively, some dimensions to try and source a silicone alternative as it's obviously a weak spot!

Thanks for that but I can't identify it from that either! :(

I'll take some pics and try and upload them.

I don't recognise the pipe from your description but does the attached pic help you identify it. Ignore the pipe with the blue tape on, it is the coolant pipe for the LPG system so there wouldn't normally be a T-piece there. The pipe arrowed connects the metal pipe with the HT lead splitter on to the heater and is the pipe YODA has linked to. You may not have the heater valve between the pipe and the heater either, it was only fitted to early 95 models.

this was the pipe that enters the front of the plenum near the thermostat housing, it had burst through where it was rubbing on the valley gasket front retainer plate.

cheers
