Was out in my 2001 110 CSW TD5 this afternoon when one of my speakers started to crackle and then could smell the good old burning wire smell. I pulled the car over and switched the ignition off and checked to see if i could smell where the smell was coming from. Had no joy so decided to drive back home but the igntion didnt fire. All lights come on, get a click but nothing happens at all. Seems as though the burning smell was from a wire that goes to the starter motor.

Anybody had a similar thing or give some light as to where it could be. Ive checked fuses and wires from ignition to relay and all seem to be ok so I am a bit stumped.
