When a friendly Mr Plod pointed out that one of my brake lights wasn't working, I got to noticing just which lights came on at the back of the vehicle and which didn't.

It seems the indicators in the rear bumper work fine, but the red ones next to them dont at all. Are they fog lights? if so..where the %$^& is the switch? Or are they spare parking lights or brake lights?

Any one else with a S2 or bumper lights that can tell me?

(nothing in the handbook or the repair manual)

Let me think, there are 4 tail lights 2 of which are brake aswell, 2 fogs, 2 reverse, and 4 indicators.

On the bumper you should have indicators, and then tail lights, as there is 2 on the main light assembly, these are surplus, and sometimes get overlooked, which reminds me I have one out at the moment.

The fogs are up on the main light assembly, the switch is next to the hazards.

OK..I have had a play with stuff under the back and my car bears no resemblance to what's in the manual. I have to dismantle the lamp to get the globes out of the middle and the rear bumper lamps clip into the bumper not screw in. The lamps on the body of the vehicle have two globes at the top (one parker, the other ????) one in the middle (brake-next to reflector) and one lower which is reversing lights. The ones in the bumper are the same wattage as the indicators/brake lights but dont come on at all. So that's two lots that dont come on.
I tested the globes in the bumper and they work fine but cannot find the origins of those red ones nor the upper ones in the body.

Switch next to the hazard lights is a blanking plate only. Mine is a 2001 S2 V8
Any suggestions what they might be.
