Afternoon all,

Since it's been a decade since I last wasted a not insubstantial pile of cash on a new (read: really old) Land Rover I thought it best to get myself a 1973 88" Series 3, sight unseen, on ebay.

By and large I'm pretty pleased with it, the galvanised chassis is a definite bonus, but it still falls quite squarely into the project category. This week I decided go start on a bulkhead, so out with the grinder, hammer, and jumbo bucket of profanity. The bulkhead doesn't look quite standard to me though, I noticed a few differences to another bulkhead I picked up along the way some time ago to take up the free space I don't have in my shed. A bit of googling and I can't find any other bulkheads quite the same either.

I daresay there are a multitude of minor changes over the years, some for good reason, some for bad, some for none at all, but I wondered if anyone else had a bulkhead the same? In the first picture you can see a raised ridge to the left of the vent by the pillar, whereas the other bulkhead I have (second picture), along with all I could find pictures of, the panel is flat all the way to the pillar

There is also a weird overlap bit above where the footwell goes (third picture).

In the pillar itself there is a stiffener/strengthner, (fourth picture) but again different to the almost box section thing I see in other pictures of peoples restorations.

With the blue one it's the odd cut out bottom right of pic.
The green just looks to me a standard series 3 that may well been repaired before.
