I have just ordered enamel paint to hand paint my Series 3. Can anyone recommend somewhere to get good brushes from?

Thanks.

Norrie.

Been a while since I gave up the decorating game, but these guys used to be one of the best in the business:

Was all in-store stuff back then, so no experience of their online business, but don't see any reason they shouldn't be able to help.
:)

A lot of people who hand-paint their Land Rovers use rollers; those little foam ones for gloss paint. You can get a great finish with them. I sprayed my LR but I used a roller on the window sills etc in my house and the finish looks as good as if I'd sprayed them.

I used the foam gloss rollers from screwfix when I did my 110 and my series 3. I only used a brush for the difficult part of the bulkhead. It take a little bit of patience to work out how much paint to put on and much to "work it" to get the bubbles out but you soon get the knack of it. You do not get a perfectly smooth surface from the roller but it is good enough on a land rover you have to be very close to notice.
I can post up some pics of the finish if you want, the series was done about 4 years ago and 2 for the 110.

I use mini-rollers from toolstation. Use the "solvent restant" type they are 4.98 for 10. They ae good for solvent based enamel and don't loose any bits if the paint is thick. I found some LR enamel dissolved the normal rollers. Don't evening think about clenaing them, use and bin.

Yeah I was going to finish with a roller. It's good to have a good quality brush to.paint it on first though. I could spray it as have the equipment but not got somewhere clean enough just now.

As said, I did everything with the roller, you quickly get to know how much paint to put on the roller.
