Hi all, had a nightmare with the beast and just fitted a starter motor repair kit which was a pig indeed.

Job done now but I can't test it as I broke a hose/pipe in the process by simply looking at it

This is a hose/pipe mostly made of brittle plastic rather than flexible rubber that spurs off the main hose out of the expansion tank, and goes around the side and front of the main engine block to join up with that cylindrical thing behind the rad.

This pipe/hose snapped in at least two places; so my question is how do I identify it to know what to buy online, or another question might be, can I just replace it with a bit of rubber flexible hose of the right diameter?

Please help as the car has already been off the road for a few days and what with all the bloody bank holidays up here in Scotland I don't want to wait any longer than I need to before I get it back on the road.

Many thanks

hahaha he sounds like he's living the dream...he has endless bank holidays and can break things just by looking at them

are you from Misfits??

You guys tickle me - some of the rudest replies/words/'banter' (along with heaps of knowledge and help and good humour I hasten to add before I get flamed ), but boy do you get upset if someone doesn't 'introduce themselves' properly.....:D. Glad I did it properly all those years ago....... and it makes for entertaining reading

OP (who seems to have gone anyway?!?!?) - its the flow to/from the header from the rad so any heat proof and pressure resistant piping will do. I wonder if yours was the original anyway if its 'broken' - I'd think it should put up with a bit of abuse, and its hardly a wearing item...?

Bye chaps - keep up the good work! A
