So, I managed to let the car roll back yesterday (on a muddy slope) and the drivers door caught on my mates Defender (considerably tougher it turns out!) and i've put a lovely dent all down the door where its crushed on the front wing and the check strap has started to rip out of the A pillar.... bugger!

It seems that getting a 2nd hand check strap for a D2 is like finding hen's teeth and a new one ia daft money - and I don't actually know how to fit as the bracket has started to pull through from the pillar - hoping I'll be able to knock/tap it back in when I take the door off...

Anyway, I've found a replacement door but its from a 2003 (facelift) D2, and mine is a pre-facelift D2 (2002) - does anyone know if it will fit or if there will be any issues??

If anyone has experience with the check strap or similar issues then all advice welcome!
