How do all,

Am having problems sorting out my BRC Sequent 56 LPG system.

It's never worked since I bought the vehicle a couple months back, but I've been lucky before and always managed to sort LPG problems out with previous Rover V8's I've bought but I'm stuck with this one.

I took it to my local LPG wizard who I've used before with great results, after changing the filters and trying to talk to the ECU with no result. He diagnosed the reducer/vapouriser as being knackered, advised I replace it and bring it back for a retune. So I replaced the vaporizer with a brand new one of the same type.

Rang up the garage where the Wizard works to book it in and they basically said he wasn't available and they're not sure if/when he'll be back.

Now I'm getting fed up of visiting the petrol station! Anyone know any decent LPG guys in the south west, or anything about these BRC systems?
I have the software and lead and can now communicate with the ECU but it won't let me retrieve any Fault Diagnosis information. Seems the software version is newer than the ECU.

I think the gas flow rate just needs setting on the vaporiser but can't find any info on how to do this online for the BRC system.

Any help, pointers or contacts would be gratefully appreciated ;)

Depending how far south west you are, I had mine done at Tamar Country cars, the best around in my opinion. Top LPG mechanics around.

Thanks for your input, I'm in south Somerset so may give dnautos a go on your recommendation. No pressure ;/

Shame there is nothing online about how to set these up but always seems to be the way with expensive systems. Personally I like to understand and do it myself but will have to concede on this one

Just to say that the RR Classic was not a BRC unit so I cant say how good they would be on it. Tamar Country cars are experts with BRC systems so for the extra distance I would highly recommend them, the mechanics/technicians( Ian Whitehair and John Edmunds) that installed mine were recommended highly by many in the business. When I had the P38 converted I looked at many installers and they came out on top. They were very, very quick and did the tidiest install I have ever seen, it looks like a work of art under the bonnet :)

Ok thanks, I'll bear that in mind. Gonna try dn auto's as the other place is a 4 hour trip for me. But see how it goes.

Seems BRC doesn't exist any which doesn't help matters. Fingers crossed it's a simple matter of setting the flow rate on the new vaporiser.

Ah maybe I was misinformed, maybe just the UK division that's no longer around?
Have heard good things about BRC, the system on mine is 10years old so I can excuse the vaporiser for needing replacement.

I had a conversion done on a 4.6 last year and went for a Prinns system. As researched and decided it was the best one. Had a lot of trouble with it from the get go, basically getting half the mpg of petrol. Long story short, after several attempts to sort it with the original installer, after taking it to the next closest Prinns installer was sorted in 20 mins. Barely any mpg loss compared with running on petrol, and similar performance.
My experience from this is the installer is as if not more important than the system! Have had Rover V8's on 5 different LPG systems, looking forward to experiencing BRC as I said heard nothing but good things about them.

I can only say from my experience with my unit that it has been flawless since it was fitted in 2011. I did do a lot of research at the time and also spoke to other owners and the BRC unit came out on top, bit more costly but in the end the extra has paid off.

I still think if you contact Tamar they would be able to sort it very quickly, or maybe even give you a clue to fix it yourself

Hi just a quick update.

Spoke to Tamar CC last week. Very helpful but seems they don't really do LPG systems anymore seems that the demand had dropped off somewhat rapidly over recent years.

I'm gonna try D&N autocare in Wellington tomorrow. Got some time to investigate on the weekend. Seems now with the new vaporiser the gas is getting to the injectors but they don't seem to be firing as none of the usual ticking that they make in operation.

Can't seem to find the emulator which picks up on the stock ecu injectors opening times/sequence anywhere in the loom so this may be the problem. Hopefully find out tomorrow!

Sorry to hear that Tamar are no longer doing the conversions, they were a good outfit.
Good luck with D&N, let me know the scoop on the outcome. There are a couple of others in the west that I know are ok but they are a tad too far from you.
