Just got my TD4 back after having turbo fixed, no the brakes dont seem to be the same, not sure if im being paranoid, though!! Brakes work fine if used once, but if at a junction and stoping and starting the brakes get stiffer every time i use them!! Then as soon as im driving again they go back to normal. Is this normal for the brakes to do this?

At a standstill (on your drive etc) with the engine switched off, pump your brake pedal and it should become quite stiff. Now keep your foot pressed on the pedal and start the car. It should dip slightly and the pressure should ease off to normal assistance.

When I saw your post I wondered if the garage may have left the brake servo pipe disconnected. I dont know much about diesel freelanders, but normally the servo is connected to the manifold by a pipe which generates the perssure for servo assitance.

Steve
