I've been having some troubles with my brakes for the last couple of days. For the first ten miles or so everything is fine, but then when braking it pulls quite heavily to the left.
Any ideas??
Only thing I can think of is front near side brake shoes are adjusted a bit closer to the drums than the others, so when they get hot and expand they are binding & delivering more braking force than the others.
Sounds like binding.
Once it starts pulling to one side stop and check the temp of each wheel / hub.
Colder one will be the one on the left i think.
Ps
What series is it ? 1,2,3 as the breaks are quite different between all three.
Just read your profile and see your Landy is a 1981 88". you will have dual line servo brakes 11" front, 10" back. there is a balance valve between to 2 lines. the brake bleeding must be done absolutely by the book ( preferably th green LR workshop manual) otherwise you can be ****ing in the wind trying to set them up properly.
But i agree that there could be a problem with the balance valve and
Also make sure that all the springs are in the correct positions as the fault could be on the rear brakes (Duel cct).
From the way it's pulling it does feel like the front. I'll have a bit of a tinker at the weekend, but I'll have to get a Haynes manual or something first. I gave the old one away with my old Landy on the basis I wouldn't be having another, but surprise surprise 6 weeks later I'd got another!!
