Recently this warning comes on intermittently but fluid level is actually fine and I can't see any leaks or seepage. Any thoughts?

I take it you are checking level in the correct manner. Switch ignition on. Wait for ABS pump to stop. Top up to Max level.

Yup. Anyway just bled it, there was quite a lot of air. Hope this sorts it.

Was that residue from when you played with the modulator, or have you got a leaky accumulator?

Good memory! I repaired the "unrepairable" pump by taking it apart and fitting new brushes and I replaced the modulator with a working used one. Accumulator was brand new about 4 years ago. Don't expect it to be leaking already but any way you know to check (without the LR guage/tool)?

None really, it's supposed to be ok down to 50 bars. Less than that it needs changing. But without the tools not possible to check it. Just hope you missed a bit of air when you did the modulator.
