Hi everyone, every now and again iv had hdc inactive, air suspension inactive pop up along with the 3 amber warning lights, restart the car, lock to lock with wheel all good for Maby a few days or couple of months no set routine. Anyway spoke to mate of mine who’s a mechanic he’s had his snap on scanner on it and it’s showing brake light switch, has anyone else had same issues? Doesn’t seem many online have had brake switch problems and do the bmw era l322 just have the one switch or two like some cars? One for lights and one for ecu. cheers.

Hi just by way of support in your quest. I trust your battery is all good because that’s the easiest thing to check first. We have a Citroen C8 that decided to throw up ABS & DSC warning lights, checked by scanner and brake light switch was flagged. That car has two identical switches but we replaced the brake light one first and bingo, job done.
Sometimes it really is the simple things just not often enough for my liking. Best thing get your head under the dash and see how easy it is to swap a switch I think. Good luck.
Tricky :)

Yea battery all good, replaced an older one in October with the bigger Bosch one that will fit in the battery box, alternator is around 14.2-14.4v depending on engine revs. I’ll probably change the brake light switch since that’s what came up on snap on machine then take it from there, found one post here with same issue from years back but can’t find any other so seems a rare issue. Mechanic said he had it not long back on a VW where abs, TC, and engine light were all on and that was brake like switch, apparently that had two, one for lights one for ecu. Looking at L322 it’s one switch with two contacts in it. Doesn’t look hard to do just tricky access, did one years back on a disco 2 I had, that’s was same, easy but fiddly.
