This weekend I'm hoping to start bleeding my brakes and clutch It's all new brake and clutch lines both systems have been drained fully whilst I changed the chassis and just wondered if anyone could advise how much fluid I should get to do the job

I must have used close to 1 litre just doing my clutch the other week. :mad: Had to buy a Gunson Ezibleed kit otherwise I would have ended up putting another litre through it and still wouldn't have cleared it. :rolleyes: You're wise to buy plenty.

I got an ezibleed was fine doing my brakes but couldn't get a cap to fit the clutch master cylinder!! Brake fluid everywhere :mad: how did you get yours to fit?

I am sure there was one in the kit I got, it was the pressurised eazibleed system, which I got from halfrauds using a trade card for a tenner. But it was for a 300tdi.

One of the caps did fit but when pressurised it brake fluid sprayed out everywhere I ended up just doing it old fashioned way. The ezibleed did work a treat doing the brakes much to my auld faithers relief lol
 
What pressure did you use?, iirc it does state on older systems only use 10psi, I did notice the brake ressie on mine got a little rounder when I had it pressurised........:p........

Mine came with a number of different caps and one fitted the clutch reservoir. It's got G4062 on the box, presume you can get different ones. I used the tyre off the wheelbarrow to pressurise the system and didn't blow the tyre up very hard at all.

Same one as I got maybe my clutch master cylinder is slightly different I used the spare wheel at 10psi. Worked fine for brakes. Both all bled now so all good

TBH the thread on the master cylinder is not the best. Makes you wonder, when the fluid is hygroscopic, why there isn't a better quality thread on them.

Yeah they aren't the best. Tomorrow after work I'm going check the cap on the ezibleed in case it's faulty as I may need it in the future and it definitely saves a lot of leg work.

I had to seat the seal in to the cap properly on mine.
 
I'll have a play about with it tomorrow evening and see. Thinking about it I could possibly drill a hole in the old master cylinder cap to connect the ezibleed for when I need it next. My brother wants me to do a brake and clutch fluid change on his 2a and Defender
