Hi can anyone tell me how to remove the boot floor? The old one is rotten a replacement has been bought. I know they are spot welded in but need to know were the spot welds are to drill them out. Cheers

Wire brushing the old floor at the area they join will reveal a slight dimple where the spot weld is. If you want to, you could use a spot weld drill to neatly remove them, but I just used the grinder and seam welded the replacement in (on the edges), did plug welds onto the cross braces.

As above, wire brush or flap wheel and they become obvious...depending on how bad the floor is you may want to drill them out, with a spot weld drill if posh,or you may cold/air chisel the welds as you grind the **** out.I welded as paul c did _ plugs on the crossmembers and seam and gap round the edge....this makes sense as you often have to put new pieces in and they have to be seamed all round anyway.

This has been covered REALLY well on here with pics and links to projects so its worth doing a good search and printing some stuff off as reference as you work.

Good luck mate....its an easier job than it looks. You will spend more time worrying it to pieces than welding....get stuck in,you can do it one man over a weekend....

.....but SEARCH!!!!:):):):)

an if you havent got a spot weld drill dont worry just get a good quality HSS bit and use that (7mm i think)
