 I have just bought a boost gauge that i need to fit to my disco. I have a 03 reg Td5 engine with a waste gate that is controlled by the ECU. from what I can see the waste gate pressure comes of the input hose to the turbo. therefore this hose wont get the pressure from the outout of the turbo. If Im wright then where should i connect the boost gauge so that i am reading the output pressure on the turbo. Can any one help? If anyone has fitted one can they post a photo.

Thanks

You fit a tee-piece in the little hose that is attached to the big hose from the turbo to the intercooler.

Good Plan

YES, it is controlled by the ECU, but POWERED by compressed air almost as usual.

from what I can see the waste gate pressure comes of the input hose to the turbo.

YES ... that is correct, and the little hose goes to a small black box just above it.

therefore this hose wont get the pressure from the outout of the turbo.

WRONG!!! It gets full boost pressure - whatever is going.

If Im wright then where should i connect the boost gauge so that i am reading the output pressure on the turbo.

You are not right, so you should connect a tee-piece to that little hose coming off the main pipe, and feed the boost gauge off the tee-piece.

Can any one help?

Yes, me!

If anyone has fitted one can they post a photo.

Very difficult to get a pic!

Thanks every one I have removed the inlet pipe last night and noticed the small pipe coming from the outlet side of the turbo to the intercooler. I will fit it on tommorow. This is what happens when i rush a job in poor day light.

will post when i have fitted it to tell you how i got on

thanks

Finally fitted the boost gauge properly today. Took the car for a test drive up a big hill in 2nd. The boost gauge got to 17 Psi max. On normal driving it runs below 15 Psi. Very happy all is well. Still need to mount the gauge when I fined a nice pod. Took a photo but can't seem to attach it to this forum.
