Hi all

I want to measure the boost pressure on my 300Tdi, i have loads of pressure gauges laying around in the workshop can i use one of these or dose it have to be a "Boost Gauge"?

Also can anyone tell me what diameter the pipe is going to the wastegate that i have to T off of?

Thanks

Rob

Any gauge that is designed to measure atmospheric pressure should do.

You also need to decide if you want to read pressure at the compressor outlet, or at the onlet manifold. I would argue that the latter of the two is more useful and would provide the level of boost your engine is actually seeing after pressure drops for intercooler/boost pipes etc.

I used a 6mm push fit pneumatic t-piece in the turbo to diesel pump and a piece of 6mm o/d pipe, used a "normal" pressure gauge 0 to 30 psi. no back light though.
