The switch on mine is not to healthy so I went down to landrover to buy the correct replacemnt only to be sold what looks like a very normal looking door typ switch which works on the basis of 1 live and the contact tot the body for the earth.

The switch I have at the moment has a very differnt type of connector and 2 wires to it. So the new one is not going to work.

any ideas?

just buy a 2 pole on/off switch and wire that up

Leave it switched on under the bonnet and any thief will think your fixing the obvious oil leak, and go break into next doors Hyundai Dross or whatever.

Simple really.

just run a live wire from yer house to the body.

240v? thats for cissys. get a 3 phase supply and zap the fookers properly.

Why don't we get a supply from the sub station at 10,000 Volts!
