I collected a 300tdi 110 from County cork about 6 weeks ago but after registering, MOTing and driving for a while realised it was a bit too nice for what the kids and I needed. I wanted a sound defender to take on Salisbury plain and do some greenlaning trips, they want something they can climb all over and use to prepare for the zombie apocalypse.

So, the 110 is off to a new home next week and I have bought a 200tdi 90 to replace it. Galvanised chassis, lifted, new tyres etc but had been stood since August, starter motor was stuck and the clutch was not working. No MOT or tax either. Luckily I had the perfect vehicle to collect it with.

Sorted the jammed starter, sorted the clutch (slave cylinder) and it has been for MOT today. Didn't pass but only a wheel bearing and fog light tell-tale to fix which I think is great.

Just need to work out what axle I have at the rear and I will hopefully have that sorted and it will be on the road within a week.

Needs some fettling but I recon it should be a good truck.
Needs a wheel bearing and not a std axle soni needed to work out what I should be ordering. Think I have it now, a pair of bearing kits on the way for fitting next week.

Bearings fitted and now passed MOT . Seem to have a little time on my hands and no chance to take it out so I have decided to press on with the paint job I was aiming to do over the winter.

Started sanding the rough hand painted white today. Going to move the sandrail out of the garage, put this in there and strip the lights, doors, badges and chequer plate before a painting it will be a hand paint job using either Combicolour or some of the synthetic enamel from Paintman. I used that in my series and it was pretty good stuff.

Oops, been a while since I updated this.

I have been busy. Still working full time over lockdown but as we have not been getting out and about i have had more time on my hands. Had a week off to get stuck into the painting too.
