Hello,

I've got a 1988 90 that has a Disco 200tdi.

A few years back, the blower motor stopped working and I've finally decided that enough is enough so this weekend I plan to fix it.

I'm starting to think it might be as simple as a blown fuse, but i have no idea where the fuses for the blower motor would be...

Haynes says they would be under the seat... But I don't have any under seat fuses. Any idea? What usually happens when 200tdi's are put in (pre defender) 90's.

Any thoughts would be appreciated

C

It will be under the cover on top of the gear tunnel. Haynes book of lies strikes again.
You can down load the proper manual for your Land Rover 90 [ not a defender ] from the web. Before you try the fuse remove the cover on the wing top put your hand in and spin the motor fan to see if it is free. Also at the bottom there is a drain that can block and chamber fills with water. Poke a stubby pencil or similar through to clear.
If it has not worked for a long time may be seized and if that is the case its out with it time.

Mine blew the fuse a week or so ago. I'm normally pretty good at keeping the birdsmouth drain valve clear, but time flies by  Anyway, it had blocked, filled up with a bit of water, enough to cover the bottom of the fan, then frozen. :( Blew the fuse straight away. Hot water in, clear the drain, soak up the remaining water with kitchen roll, replace fuse and all sorted. :)
