Hey guys. Just popped out to my D2 to grab something from the glovebox. Pressed the unlock button on the fob only to have the alarm start screaming at me! Car now won't unlock or lock and seems completely unresponsive to the key fob and the alarm is going through a cycle if scream/pause/scream etc. kill me now.

I'm sure all that would happen is the car would burn slowly with the alarm still screaming and then blow up taking out the house with it.. funny how an alarm going off at midnight sets your teeth on edge!

have you tried the key in the drivers door, manual unlock?

Tried it but it is seized solid. I suspect the thing hasn't been used for years!
On the other hand, I've found that the positive battery terminal want tight - nipped it up and hey presto! Funny how you don't think of the bleedin obvious late at night when you've had a few!

Yes I had the same on the wifes MX5, immobiliser playing up was simply a loose battery connection, glad you got it sorted
