On Christmas Eve morning, my 110 was missing a little when started. After a few minutes it was fine and throughout maybe an hour or so of running when doing a few jobs about the places it was driving ok for a while, then missing, then grand etc.

The injector balances were kinda all over the place when missing. Up even around 40-50s and then could be fine again when running ok. Wasn't one particular injector either, all of them were bad at one point or another.

Was parked then for the day and that evening, it was missing badly again and even cut out. Started again and still was missing when I got home.

Next morning. It was missing very badly to the point it wouldn't even run.

Would run for a few hundred yards when given a good tow start alright but would die then again and not start even when towed for another while. Priming the pump seemed to help it start again though but again only run for a short time before dying.

Checked for faults on the nanocom and nothing is coming up.
Tested the injectors and they are clicking as they should at least so as much as I can do without removing them and testing them.

I've changed the injector harness, fuel filter and filter housing itself as old one was cracked where it bolts to the chassis. Tried a new VDO pump. Tried another crank sensor albeit was a used one so not sure how good it was and everything makes no difference to how it'll run... Or not run :(

Thinking maybe injector washers as they may be messing up the fuel pressure in the rail?
Other than that can only think of the injectors themselves although strange to all pack up very suddenly, fuel pressee regulator or the loom due to chaffed wires or bad earths?

Anybody have any ideas as need it for towing my car to a trackday on Tuesday:rolleyes:

Injector washers, o rings, injector loom and oil in ecu plug

Injector loom is brand new and old one was bone dry at the round plug. Some oil in the plug alright but nothing bad enough to cause problems.

could it be bad fuel

Was thinking the same really as the place I got the last fill from isn't the best quality but have got fuel there before without it acting up... That's not to say, this fill could be from a particularly bad supply of fuel.

Going to look at the loom tomorrow for any damage or bad earths and try a new crank sensor and change the injector washers to rule them out. Might see can I get a loan of a fuel pressure tester too

My MAF gave up alright so disconnected the night before it started missing and made a great difference to performance as it was down on power and wouldn't rev beyond 3K with it connected.

Thinking the fact that it was running on default fueling then might have made any bad fuel issues arise?

If you remove the ECU and stand it on a warm radiator for a day or so this may help (worked for me on 2 different TD5's). Obviously stand it on some rag so that any oil/condensation can run out. Seems you've done everything else though I would go along with bad fuel, never buy fuel from a supermarket. Pay a couple more pennies per litre, its worth it. I once went against my own principles and filled up at Morrisons, it was like driving a vehicle with flat tyres. I find Texaco fuel works out best for my TD5.

Sorted this during the week. Was just the injector washers were fooked!

At least I have a spare fuel pump out of it anyway :D
