Hi

just a quick one - BLACKSHEEP OFFROAD is back in business with his crossmembers.

I got the first one on at his new premises in RAYLEIGH, Essex and it it was all completed in a day - Clive did an excellent job so please support him in his new venture after a hard time at previous premises.

That's great news!

Really solid crossmember, lovin mine.
And they are very helpful.
 
Just CLIVE on his own now. PM PRESSBRAKE on here for more details.

Cost me £460 but individual quotes might differ - speak to Clive, he is sound and wont mess you about.

If you think about what you pay from some of the more established 'names' for a new crossmember and fitting, you will pay more than this and its only 2-3mm steel, not 6mm steel which is what he makes them from.

He asked me to make sure it was clean underneath, which I did by pressure washer, and that he doesnt like the attitude of caked in mud as a 'badge of honour'. Treat him right professionally and you will get a good job. Manners go a long way.
 
I Ordered one for my old chassis before I decided to go for a replacement chassis
It was a cracking bit of kit really well made and solid
oh and it weighed a bloody ton

yep its a lot more solid than initially feared - the skin had separated in a bubble. I bought it off a farmer and the mud had been caked on hard. It probably weatherproofed it more! Underneath tho, there had been a coat of waxoyl once and original paint seen.

However what I have now is a super strong rear crossmember welded to a good chassis.

just to get surface rubbish off and ill reprime it and paint, then waxoyl or dinitrol
 
Nice one Clive. Good to hear you're back in business. I've had several things of you now including a rear crossmember with extensions. It really is a work of art. I've not seen another one come close!!

After I had email off someone I didn't even know demanding the drawings dxf files etc and telling me I was selfish if I didn't hand them over I said f u I'll start making them again , and think of your own thing to make!

Ordered mine last week, can't wait for it to arrive so I can get it fitted:cool::cool::cool: A big +1 for Clive being a great bloke to deal with, even when dealing with a clown that forgot to mention they had a tow bar fitted:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Clive, I've had limited contact with demanding customers and even with my very limited contact there's some really strange attitudes out there. I'm currently trying to avoid going back into an office with my own small products. My products are a lot higher quality than the "regular" ones you get, and totally handmade, as a consequence my stuff is more expensive, but some people don't appreciate that and can be pretty mean. Just try to ignore those, and focus on the positive stuff.

When my Defender needs a new crossmember I'll come, hat in hand, humbly to ask you to do the best damn job you can do, and I'll pay you whatever you want, and I'll be grateful. That's what high quality craftsmanship is all about, and I sure hope you continue to do it.

Use dinitrol, wax oil is poop
