Big thankyou to James Martin,
As some of you may well know ive been having problems with the engine in my defender for a while, and even more trouble sourcing a good replacement.
After finding a second hand one and replacing big ends/ crankshells, piston rings etc and rebuilding it and it only lasting 30 miles or so before the oil light came on, i began talking with James and soon realised that taking the engine to him for for a rebuild was the best option.
It would soon become apparent that some things are best left to those who know ( I`ll stick to electrics from now on,) and James pointed out the damage done to the crank, the shells etc from my lack of knowledge in engine building.
Out of the 3 engines i have it was decided this was the best to start a rebuild with as the block was in very good condition and didnt need a rebore, a good crank from another was also used to save money and avoid having to grind a worn crank.
James has now totally rebuilt the engine and replaced everything with new so i can now start to worry about the other little niggles the 90 has in the knowledge that the engine isnt one of them.
Thank you James, You are a top bloke.
I would recomend James to anyone who owns a landy, I am overjoyed with the job he has done and even more so with the price. More than reasonable.
Thankyou
