If it got the little scrotes then yes, but most of them don't register the cars in their own names anyway. So no point sending a letter!
So if you have a collection of Landies off the road best get SORNing if you haven't already.

All that will do is make more feckin hassle for those of us who do drive legally and won't make a blind bit of difference to those who don't. It's cars that are being driven that need to be chased up, not some poor blokes project in his garage for fooks sake.

why cant we have a system where you have to buy the reg plate ! only when you show mot & cetificate of insurance is a plate issued in a paticular colour for the year of issue ie 2010 is blue ,2011 is red etc and scrap the road tax i know as well as every one else who pays out all the time its a pain in the arse , but unless more plod cars are fitted with A N P R , systems the problem of uninsured and drink drivers will remain a nightmare for us all , its not fair

Why don't they make the road tax a little bit higher, and include FIXED RATE
3rd party insurance in that?

Cos then, if people had tax then they would be insured, and the insurance company wouldn't get away with charging such stupid amounts. Cos no-one would pay it.

It's a SH*T idea. I have a couple of classics, I don't run the insurance and tax at the same time, that way if I want to run it for the MOT test I can do that before the tax becomes due, if it needs work I can take my time and have it SORN, but this now means i's have to remember when the insurance of a car runs out, which would be different to the tax, or else I'd get a fine.

ive had me other car unsured for three days on me front garden.Didnt drive it cos was using work van and insurance quote dropped loads-bout 66quid second tinme of getting a quote, but didnt get that sorn.

i dont think we are thinking straight WE ARE GOING TO SHAFTED ANYWAY no matter how they dress it up what needs to happen is an easy way to detect insurance avoiders ie more anrp systems more traffic plod ?

scrap the road tax and stick 5p on fuel to cover the loss of revinue that way aint no one gonna get away with non payment unless they nick the fuel. car drivers are a cash cow for this government and it aint gonna change any time soon, they need the money to support the immigrants !
